In 2005, Sharon Welch Clark, owner of Pepperberries, launched Pamper Me Pink, an annual event that focuses on women’s health and encourages women to take some time out for pampering. Through a partnership with UVA Culpeper Medical Center over the last 16 years, Pamper Me Pink has become much more than a social event. Sharon Clark saw a need in the community to heighten awareness, educate and raise money related to breast health within the local community. What began as a small gathering of 25 women upstairs from the former location of Pepperberries has blossomed into a tradition for hundreds– and often an emotional reunion that guests look forward to each year.

The Pamper Me Pink Mammography Fund

The Pamper Me Pink Mammography Fund of UVA Culpeper Medical Center provides free mammograms and some follow-up imaging to women and men of financial need within our service area. Through the Pamper Me Pink Fund, founder Sharon Welch Clark and Culpeper Medical Center have helped hundreds of residents who could not afford breast health services to benefit from lifesaving mammography screenings. The Pamper Me Pink Fund continues to support our community, with the ongoing mission that no local resident should go without a mammogram or follow-up imaging due to an inability to pay.
